The Technical Sales Engineer is a highly visible position that plays an active role in working directly with Sales on new customer opportunities for the Stacks product line as well as working with existing customers to ensure high levels of success with their Stacks solutions. The TSE will engage as a proactive, pragmatic champion for customers' success by recommending and/or implementing a set of actionable tasks and responsibilities to meet customer needs and measures of success. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of business and technical acumen to the job where they will be seen as a high-value SME.


Primary Responsibilities



  • Work closely with Sales team on pre/post sale Stacks opportunities
  • Recommend customer solutions by matching Stacks capabilities to customers' content and functional needs
  • Recommend best practices to maximize awareness and usage of the Stacks product line
  • Develop and deploy custom enhancements for customers' Stacks solutions
  • Maintain in-depth product knowledge, including understanding of how future customization or enhancement requests affect platform maturity
  • Advocate on behalf of customers, providing suggestions and feedback regarding product enhancements and improvements to improve product quality
  • Conduct presentations for internal and external customers
  • Track and report on all engagement activities
  • Travel up to 50% of the time


Requirements


  • 5
    years working in a customer service, consulting, or technical capacity.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in the Information Services / library industry
  • Experience with Content Management Systems, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), ILS, Learning Management Systems, SharePoint or related technical products.
  • Experience with pricing models related to paid-for services
  • Working knowledge of Open Athens, SAML, or OpenID
  • Working knowledge of RESTful web services
  • Working knowledge of web design and user experience best practices
  • Experience with Photoshop or other graphics imaging software

  • Manage multiple priorities and cope effectively with ambiguity and complexity
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
