Pharmacy Technician

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Supports FMCNA's mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy.
Adheres to the FMCNA Compliance Program including following all regulatory and division/company policy requirements.
Under the guidance of direct Supervisor, performs general pharmacy technician duties and assists withCounting and filling prescriptions.
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Responsible for driving the FMCNA culture through values and customer service standards.
Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers.
Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication.
Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow-up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Under Pharmacist guidance and per company policies and procedures, assists with dispensing of products and performs general pharmacy technician duties as follows:
-Monitors the drug file and prepares prescriptions for packaging and or distribution.
-Retrieves count and obtains prescription drugs from stock.
-Counts and fills patient prescription based on order.
-Prepares prescription labels to be placed on dispensing containers.
-Attaches additional information and instructions on the dispensing container, when necessary.
-Presents final dispensed product(s) to pharmacist for verification and final check.
-Organizes finished products for packing/distribution.
Helps to ensure that pharmacy area is clean and orderly at all times.
Assists with monthly inventory checks.
Review stock for recalls and expired medications.
Notifies inventory coordinator or Supervisor if stock is low on a particular medication.
May assist in maintaining adequate levels of inventory by ordering drugs, following established procedures.
Assists inventory coordinator with the packing, distribution and tracking of patient orders.
Prepares and labels stocked drugs.
Obtains and enters patient, medical or prescription order data into computer system.
Maintains an orderly filing system.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
High School diploma required Registered, or able to be registered, as a Pharmacy Technician per state guidelines.
In addition, attends continuing education courses as required by state.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
1 year experience in medical field preferred Registered or able to be registered as a Pharmacy Technician per applicable state guidelines.
Understanding of medical terminology and calculations is desirable Attention to detail a must Self-motivated with a strong work ethic Professional demeanor Knowledge of computers EO/AA Employer:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
