Department Name RADIOLOGY ADMINISTRATION Job Description POSITION SUMMARYTo process exam requests and assist in the coordination of pending exams.
To provide patient transport within department and around patient areas.
To perform a variety of other duties associated with registration and examination of patients, such as scheduling appointments, maintaining and copying images/films, preparing charge slips for services rendered, and answering/routing phone calls.
Nonexempt (Hourly - Eligible for overtime)MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSWork experience may NOT substitute for minimum education requirement.
High School Diploma or GED required.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLSOrders and stocks supplies as necessary.
Assists Radiologist and Radiology Technologists in preparing patients for procedures.
Assists Radiologist and technologists with PACS system and enters pertinent patient information into radiology information system.
Assists in the transport of patients within the department and around patient areas.
Obtains previous studies form other healthcare facilities and physician offices and matches it with current patient information for comparison and interpretation by radiologist.
Overall Core Job Responsibilities ratings Reviews daily schedules and calls physician offices and patients to verify appointments, etc.
Gathers and hangs films on motorized viewing stations and view banks, with appropriate patient documents for radiologist's interpretation.
Interviews and records appropriate responses of patients on questionnaire sheets, with information about their health and symptoms prior to having the exam.
Monitors and evaluates completion of reports and coordinates steps necessary to minimize pending procedure lists.
Monitors hospital patients and outpatients and assists them as needed, while waiting for exam.
Schedules and collects pertinent information necessary in performing procedures.
